Blackberry Peach Rum Pie

This delicious fruity treat will stun your guests with how much flavor can fit under one pie crust. This recipe will make the perfect addition to your Thanksgiving, Christmas or frankly any holiday spread.

Crumble Topping Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 sticks chilled unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup of oats

Pie Ingredients

  • One pie crust
  • 4 cups fresh peach slices
  • 2 cups fresh blackberries
  • 2-5 fluid oz black rum
  • 1/2 cup of dark brown sugar

Directions

First, take your peach slices, put them into a large rectangular pan and place them in your Grilla Grill at 375. Let these warm up for roughly ten minutes and remove from the grill. They should look as though they are starting to soften up.

In a bowl, make the crumble topping for your pie by combining 1 1/2 cups flour,  cup of oats, 3/4 cup sugar, 1/3 cup dark brown sugar and 1/4 teaspoon each nutmeg, salt and cinnamon. Cut 1 1/2 sticks chilled unsalted butter into pieces. With your hands, work in butter pieces, until large clumps form.

Take your softened peaches and pour in your desired amount of black berries. Next pour in between 2-5 fluid oz. of black rum and a 1/2 cup of dark brown sugar. Mix until thoroughly coated.

Take your fruit and rum mixture and place into a pie tin, lined with a pie crust. Pour on enough of your crumble topping to fully cover the pie.

Now it’s time to fire up your grill! Choose your Grilla Grill of choice, insert your pie and bake for 45 to 60 minutes or until the innards reach 165 to 180 degrees. Remove from grill and cool. Keep refrigerated after cooling.

Want to elevate this recipe just a tad? Try substituting blackberries for other bite-sized fruits like cherries, raspberries and strawberries. Maybe add a chocolate pie shell, or mix in some honey into your fruit and crumble topping for to satisfy even the most decadent sweet tooth.
