Dawgfatha's Smokey Refried Beans
When Grilla Grills and the The Dawgfatha get together, we always take it to the next level. The Dawfatha has taken refried beans and added smoke, cheese, and bacon to them to create the “holy trinity” of beans! So, the next time your are dishing up some Tex-Mex for friends and family, these beans are a must. ENJOY!
- 32 oz. can refried beans
- 10 oz. thick bacon, cubed
- Pinto bean seasoning
- Cotija cheese (optional)
In a grill safe pot, render the bacon over medium-low heat.
Add in the refried beans and pinto bean seasoning; stir to incorporate.
Place the pan in the smoker and let it sit, uncovered, for as long as you wish to build in the smoke flavor; stir often to prevent burning.
Remove from smoker and add cheese, if desired.
