Grilla Grills Memphis Style BBQ Sauce
This sauce, hailing from Memphis Tennessee, makes a person transport themselves to historic Beale Street and take in the sites and sounds of the city. Memphis BBQ is known for it’s incredible pulled pork and ribs, and this sauce works perfectly with those two staples of the region with it’s perfect balance between sweet and tangy.
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- Kosher salt, to taste
- Ground black pepper, to taste
- Heavy pinch of cayenne pepper
1.) Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a gentle boil; whisking constantly.
2.) Reduce the sauce to a simmer and cook for 20-30 minutes, stirring frequently.
3.) Remove from heat and let stand until room temperature. Once cooled, the sauce can be used right away or stored in the frig for up to one month.
