Grilled Swordfish with Tomato and Basil Relish
This recipe is courtesy of the legendary Dawgfatha’s BBQ! At any backyard BBQ, or seated dinner with family and friends, this is sure to be a hit! This delicious dish is bright and fresh with garden fresh tomatoes, spicy basil, and floral olive oil. SO, give this one a go and ENJOY!
- Two 6 oz. swordfish steaks
- 2 cups cherry tomatoes, sliced in half
- 6 leaves fresh basil, cut into thin strips
- 1 lemon
- Kosher salt, to taste
- Ground black pepper, to taste
- Fish rub (recipe available from Dawgfatha'a BBQ)
- Olive oil
Fire up your charcoal grill and heat to 400 degrees.
Rub the swordfish fillets with olive oil and season with the salt, pepper, and fish rub.
Grill the steaks for 2-3 minutes on each side, remove from grill, and allow to rest for 7 minutes.
While the steaks are resting, combine the basil, tomatoes, juice and zest of one lemon, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, salt, and pepper; mix well to combine and make the relish.
Plate the grilled swordfish steaks together with the relish and enjoy!
TIP: The Dawgfatha recommends an arugula salad with this dish. The salad (comprised of fresh arugula, olive oil, lemon zest, salt, and pepper) is simple yet delicious!
