Homemade Yellow Mustard

This homemade yellow mustard is easy to make and serves as an excellent condiment for your summer weekends grilling out. This recipe has a bit of a bite and works perfectly with burgers, brats, hotdogs, and even as a base for making your very own Carolina style BBQ sauce!

  • 2 cups cold water
  • 1.5 cups yellow dry mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground tumric
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup white vinegar

1.) Place all ingredients, EXCEPT for the vinegar, into a medium saucepan and whisk until smooth. Cook the mixture, over medium heat, for 30-45 minutes, or until thickened into a paste; stir often during this process.

2.) Whisk the vinegar into the thickened paste, and cook for another 10-15 minutes.

3.) Let the mustard cool to room temperature and place in the frig for storage, or use it right away. The mustard can be safely stored for several months.
