Sausage and Cheese Breakfast Casserole
This recipe is great when you are entertaining because it can be made ahead of time and just throw in the oven for your guests in the morning; hassle free! This dish goes great with hashbrowns, fresh fruit, and some mid-morning brunch libations. So, give this one as try and enjoy!
- 12 whole eggs
- 1 pound breakfast sausage
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 3 bell peppers, seeded and sliced
- 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 package of shredded cheddar cheese
- Kosher salt, to taste
- Ground black pepper, to taste
In a mixing bowl, crack all of the eggs and scramble gently; set aside.
Brown the sausage, drain, and set aside.
In a skillet, cook the onions and peppers together and set aside.
In the mixing bowl with the eggs, combine the cooked sausage, cooked onions and peppers, cheese, cream, and seasonings; stir until incorporated well.
Pour the egg mixture into a greased baking pan and place in your smoker at 350 degrees for one hour, or until the eggs firmly set.
