Strawberry Cocktail Syrup
This cocktail syrup is far too easy to make to taste so good, and it can take your summer drinks to the next level! All ya have to do is make some simple syrup with brown sugar and water, pour it over some fresh strawberries and let that mixture hang out in the frig for a day or two. The brown sugar gives this syrup and nice complexity and you can use it in anything from milkshakes to margaritas. Cheers!
- 2 cups light brown sugar
- 2 cups water
- 3 pounds strawberries
In a medium sauce pan, combine the sugar and water and bring to a boil; stirring constantly, until the sugar dissolves. Cut the ends of the strawberries off and place into a glass bowl. Pour the hot syrup over the berries and let stand until room temperature. Cover and put in the frig for at least 24 hours. Strain, reserve the strawberries for another use, and either use right away or store refrigerated for up to 6 months.
